Battery Reconditioning Yourself

Battery Reconditioning Yourself

Battery reconditioning is a straightforward process where you can bring most of your old rechargeable batteries back to 100% working condition. In the current 'green revolution' it's come to be quite favorite because not only does it save you money, but it also stops batteries from going to a landfill by extending their life.

Almost every particular type of battery can be reconditioned (as long as they're rechargeable). The most favorite are lead acid batteries (the ones found in your car, boats and golf carts) simply because they are the most costly and you can pay for the reconditioning tool just by doing 1 battery.

That doesn't mean that you can't recondition other batteries though. All of the devices in your home from your remote, cordless power tools, laptops etc. Can all be reconditioned for a fraction of the cost of buying a new battery. That means you'll have a diminutive extra money to buy that big screen Tv you've always wanted... Whoops that was my dream.

All kidding aside, I don't really understand why more citizen aren't reconditioning batteries. All that's required are a good set of instructions (which you can find on the internet by doing a quick search). You will also need a battery reconditioner (there's one for 12V car batteries and an additional one for household batteries) and you're all setup.

There are any things you should learn before you start though. The first is that it's great to accomplish a reconditioning cycle on the battery before it's thoroughly dead. I do a cycle when I consideration that my battery is beginning to found the memory effect. The memory consequent is fAirly base and it basically means your battery 'remembers' when you start charging it and seems to go dead when it hits that point. After putting it in the reconditioner the memory consequent is thoroughly gone. Each time I do that I save myself (on my Aa, C, D etc. batteries).

Lead acid batteries are the most favorite type of battery to recondition though. These batteries are found in cars, boats and even golf carts. After awhile they start to hold less and less of a payMent and eventually we just throw them out... Even though they aren't really dead. In order to recondition these you need what's called a desulfator (or nanopulser). As long as the battery isn't thoroughly dead in most cases you can bring it back to life.

Battery reconditioning is a very smart convention and can save you quite a bit of money over the long term. If you're not doing it already you're basically burning money (and none of us likes to do that).
